Health & Education Services, Inc. (HES) is a private, non-profit, behavioral health network serving over 40 communities in the greater North Shore, Lowell and Merrimack Valley areas. HES helps build healthy individuals, families, and communities through the integration of quality health, behavioral health, education, and human service programs.

Established in 1971 in Salem, MA as a small counseling center, the HES of today represents the broad spectrum of human services in Massachusetts. HES helps over 25,000 adults and children each year. Our services include primary prevention, outpatient treatment, emergency services, residential care, and substance abuse services. Care at HES involves working with people across the lifespan.

NEWS July 13, 2010 Northeast Health System (NHS) announced today that it will merge two of the North Shore’s top behavioral health providers – CAB Health and Recovery Services and Health and Education Services (HES) – into a new, single behavioral health entity which will create one of the most significant out-patient behavioral health providers in the state. Read the press release, click here.
