Thank you for visiting the Giving section of our web site, and Welcome!

Since 1970, Health & Education Services (HES) has provided shelter, counseling and support to tens of thousands of men, women and children in the North Shore and Merrimack Valley Areas. Our programs reach out to people struggling with difficult life situations, often at the very lowest times in their lives. We offer hope, shelter, education, counseling and support. Our staff provides excellent, compassionate care to each one of the adults and children we serve. HES helps, right here in our community.

Government deficits and the current economic environment have combined to place an enormous burden on our agency. These same forces greatly increase the need for the services we provide and we are forced to try to do more with less.

Philanthropic support from the communities we serve is vital to the well being of our organization. For the first time in our existence, through our Tapestry Capital Campaign, we are asking the public for financial support to continue the good work we do.

All of us at HES are very grateful to the Foundations, Corporations and individuals who have chosen to support us in these difficult times. By helping HES you are helping families, friends and neighbors improve their lives and strengthen our community.

Success Story- Maria

On any given day, dozens of teens like “Maria” come through the doors of HES’s High School Student Assistance Programs. While they may all be different, their reason for seeking help from HES counselors is the same... they simply have no one else to turn to. HES provides advice, counseling and even hospital evaluations, when necessary. It offers a safe environment for teens when the world outside is threatening. It’s a place where the teen considering suicide can get immediate care; the girl whose boyfriend threatened her with a knife can be advised on meeting with a victim’s advocate and the merits of restraining orders; the boy who is convinced running away from his abusive home is the only answer can find other options; or the girl desperately in need of grief counseling can finally find comfort.
